FSA’s brand new range of high quality mountain bike cranksets are designed according to a fully-modular system, meaning that any rider or mechanic can easily, quickly and safely swap out the spider, spindles and chainrings from one set to another. It also features a built-in chain-line adjustment system so that wider Boost and traditional non-Boost configurations can each be accommodated with the same cranksets – so essentially one crankset works across any bike.
The Modular system allows for the perfect combination of components, tailoring exact specification requirements to the individual rider and the type of terrain they’re facing, and for when the time comes to renew and upgrade components. Compatibility with all current and future standards mean that the flexibility – and value – of FSA’s modular cranks is unparalleled and the benefits can be shared by all riders, future-proofing your ride.
There are four different FSA crankset families which now employ the new Modular technology: SL-K, Afterburner, V-Drive and Comet. All new FSA Modular cranks are compatible with Direct Mount or BCD 96/68 standards. They are available in a wide range of single or double chainring specifications, giving superior choice of gearing ratios: 1x – 26T-38T; 2x – 38/28T; 2x – 38/24T; 2x – 36/24T; 2x – 36/22T, and can be adjusted to run the following chain-lines – 1x 50mm/53mm Boost or 2x 49mm/52mm Boost.
The Modular system’s impressive compatibility is further extended by the range of BB392EVO bottom bracket options: •MegaEVO – for 68 or 73mm threaded English BB •PF92 – for 89.5 or 92.5mm SMN PressFit BB shells •BB30 – for 68 or 73mm BB30 BB shells •PF30 – for 68 or 73mm PF30 BB shells. Of course the exact specification of the four FSA mountain bike crankset families that currently comprise the Modular system vary by model: Afterburner Hollow Forged 6061, Q-factor 168mm, Forged and CNC 7075 chainring, weight: 736g
