The first product Hartmut, the Ortlieb founder, ever made was a rear pannier from an old red truck tarp, in 1981. Little did he know that Ortlieb panniers would become established as a staple waterproof, practical luggage option for travelling cyclists around the world.

Now, after years of product development, the Ortlieb Back-Roller Classic rear panniers are made of durable, waterproof fabrics and integrate improved, flexible mounting systems for loading pretty much any touring bike and rack. The tried and tested roll closure ensures safe and waterproof storage of food and equipment.
