Soma Wolverine Custom 56cm

The original inspiration for the Wolverine was "monster cross", but it is seriously so much more. With geometry that is stable enough for off road touring, but sporty enough for adventure, it's an almost infinitely reconfigurable bike that will last you many years of riding enjoyment.

We built this Wolverine around fast rolling Stans Grails in 700c (handbuilt by Wheels By Wide Open) and 50c Soma Cazadero tyres for speed and cushy volume. It runs equally happily on burly 650b wheels - many folks have two different wheelsets and swap-out depending on the ride of the day. As an antidote to the ubiquitous SRAM we're running a Microshift drivechain - the advantages include being able to fully strip it down with standard a multitool - essential for real adventuring.

Classic parts include Thomson stem and post, Chris King headset for maintenance-free steering, a Brooks Cambium perch and the superb Ritchey Venturemax offroad drop-bars. Stopping duties are performed by TRP cable discs - again an easy to maintain option when in the wilds of wherever..

This one is a 56cm frame - if that's your size, well lucky you! If not we can custom build a Wolverine just for you, the way you like it.
