Bombtrack Bicycle Company have been putting out some superb adventure bikes during their short existence. This small savvy company based in Cologne, Germany have been the toast of the adventure and CX bike scene over the past few years with some stand out models including the Hook EXT and it's carbon sibling the EXT-C, the Beyond range, and a slew of cracking CX bikes, and they show no signs of slowing up their innovation.
Know for on-point aesthetics and up to date component selection, we're super excited to be landing our 2020 Bombtrack models any day now.
When you want to go wild places fast.
An ultralight carbon construction strips mass from the Hook EXT while retaining the versatility the range is known for. Backed by equally quick 650B Hunt Adventure Sport wheels and easy rolling WTB Ranger tyres, it’s the endpoint of our speed focused gravel line. With the ability to carry serious loads, triple mounts on the forks and three separate bottle cage fixings allow you to carry as much as you need with you. Building speed, or stopping everything in seconds, the entire package is backed up by Sram’s Rival gearing and brakes.
Smaller wheels, bigger tyres, rowdier personality.
The burly Hook EXT is made for the most extreme drop bar adventures. A classic case of "if it ain't broke – don't fix it!". Besides adding a wider, more durable T47 bottom bracket we've revised the cable routing to keep the bike looking clean with any combination of derailleurs and dropper posts. Besides this, the bike retains the same gorgeous matt metallic grey paint scheme and awesome parts list that’s made it a pin-up for many gravel nerds.
Hardcore trail-ready expedition machine
A contemporary trail geometry featuring a long reach and moderate stack mean the Cale is easy on the long-haul, yet fun when the terrain kicks off. Using experience gained building our Beyond+ models, it’s a vehicle for exploring the most technical routes. An MRP Ribbon suspension fork stops the bike getting thrown about to increase control, a quality furthered by its huge 800mm wide bars. With the ability to slam the saddle out of the way courtesy of the KS E30i dropper seatpost, ultra-wide WTB Vigilante TCS tyres and a mountain-shrinking 10-50t cassette make this all the bike most riders will ever need.
Go anywhere. Full stop.
With hugely wide 29’’ tyres, easy gearing, and a radical backswept Jones bar, the Beyond+ ADV is ready to be ridden to the ends of the earth. Rolling ever onwards, its double butted frame and carbon fork cut weight and increase comfort. A unique, low-profile geometry creates standover for technical riding while also making the bike easier to hop aboard when loaded. Covered in every conceivable mounting point, regardless of how you load it, Magura Trail Sport brakes will bring the whole bike safely to a halt when needed.
A bike for adventures on the rough stuff.
Huge 2.8’’ tubeless tyres and 27.5’’ wheels keep everything steady as the terrain breaks up. Lively when ridden unloaded, the Beyond+ remains stable once laden with bikepacking bags. Driving the bike forward is Sram’s top-flight 12 speed NX Eagle groupset featuring a mega-wide 11 – 50 T cassette, while maintaining control are its twin-piston Sram Level hydraulic brakes. With routing for a dropper post and suspension corrected geometry, both items can be swapped in later if needed.
A bike you can live aboard for weeks at a time.
Made to cross countries and continents via all kinds of roads and trackways, the Beyond is our most affordable adventure-touring bike. Using a double butted steel frame its high front makes for comfortable endurance riding. A 42 / 28 T chainset and Sram Apex gearing keep things rolling inexorably forward, while mechanical TRY Spyre disc brakes can be serviced with a minimum number of tools. To ensure consistent fitting, the wide 700C tyres are replaced by 650B alternatives on the smallest sizes.
